Tidy's getting new icons

We're excited to say Tidy is getting a fresh look later this month.

While Tidy is getting updated all the time, the look and feel has remained consistent while we focused on giving you more features and improving the functionality. Tidy is very committed to the user experience of our products. The first step into visually improving Tidy is to update the icons. For those who place more value on the visual, this update is a milestone.

These changes will make it easier for you to use the software, and make it more visually appealing. We also accept that each user may appreciate the changes differently to others. We're listening to feedback continually along this journey!

As a sneak peak, here's a before and after of the icons:

Old

New

You'll also see subtle design improvements throughout the software.

How this improves the usability

  •   The icons look new, modern, and sharper!
  •   The new icons are much simpler, reducing the visual distraction and let you focus on the content of your work.
  •   They are also more consistent, making the software more intuitive to use.
  •   The colour of each icon has a meaning, making it easier to navigate and take actions in Tidy.

It's worth the change

We don't want to disrupt you so we've thought carefully about how to make this change as unobtrusive as possible. We've resisted the urge to move anything around, so you'll be able to keep using Tidy at full speed immediately after the release. (Research tells us the position of a button is the primary way established users find the button.) Almost everywhere the text labels have remained the same.

Early access and your feedback

As well as following design and usability principles, we're listening to the feedback from you, our user. If you'd like to get early access and provide feedback, then let us know. We'd love to put you in our early access group and hear your feedback. Please look out for your invite to participate via a message you will receive in the Tidy application:
